Macy's Not Accepting Orders

Tuesday December 4th '12, 4:29 pm

While our users previously were able to order from Macy's just fine, lately we hear opposite reports. It appears that Macy's declines every single order that is being put through.
At US Unlocked we have thoroughly researched the issue. Even though Macy's receives the authorisation approval the processor for the US Unlocked Card sends, they are turning around and declining the purchase. Unfortunately, no one at Macy's has been able to tell us why this is happening.

From freight forwarding companies we heard similar experiences, which could indicate that Macy's currently does not accept orders with freight forwarding addresses.

For US Unlocked Card holders it has been very frustrating finding this out the hard way. While Macy's declines the order they still put a pending hold on the amount of the authorization request. Which means that those funds are temporarily unavailable for the card holder. Usually the hold disappears after 3-5 business days. But if you were planning other purchases instead you may now have to wait for those funds to become available again.

Needless to say, at present we strongly recommend to not place any orders on Macys.com.

You are very likely to find the same items on other websites.
The US Unlocked Card is accepted on most websites where MasterCard is accepted. For the best results, please follow guidelines as described in Making Payments with the US Unlocked Card.

Hot Looks in Cool Fall Weather

Monday October 15th '12, 11:12 am

Spring 2013 collections wrapped up their debuts on runways across the Northern Hemisphere last month. As if the designers knew we would see our first snowfalls of the season this week, they wanted to leave us with a small glimpse of something bright to look forward to come April. As we prepare for cooler weather and pine for at least one more warm, carefree summer afternoon, let’s think back to February when we first fell in love with the Fall 2012 styles that had just been unveiled to us.

We couldn’t wait for that first crisp morning when we could pull on our knee high boots, paired with an embellished whimsical blouse and one very cozy, oversized statement coat. Is the excitement coming back to you? Get comfortable as we refresh your memory on this season’s hottest cool-weather trends.

All in the Details

Luxury is back, and this season is all about layers of opulence. Keep this trend simple by dressing up your favorite blouse, with an embellished collar or a statement necklace. You will be on the mark with elaborate accessories this season. Everything from embroidered shoes to intricate filigree jewelry: it is all about endless details. If you’re feeling more dramatic, fully embrace the baroque trend, and pair your most ornate pieces together. Think a delicate lace dress with an embroidered overcoat, your dressiest heels and favorite jewels. Forget the old adage of less is more.

Bold Schoolgirl

Designers prove that schoolgirl innocence can be playful, yet sophisticated. Get the look this season wearing a vintage-style button-up blouse with a peter-pan collar and preppy tartan mini skirt. The way to wear the trend best this fall is by combining all decades of style. Maybe you love the look of a pleated skirt with knee highs, so try pairing with a bold printed sweater to achieve that “fresh off the runway” look. As mentioned in our previous trend, you can’t go wrong with bold accessories. Thick-rimmed glasses, a statement piece of jewelry or even a bold hairstyle can bring your look to the present moment.

Supersized

You may think oversized translates to shapeless, and therefore only necessary when trying to hide those few extra pounds after one too many holiday desserts. Not so this season. Designers are using size as a bold statement, with color and dramatic structure. The extra volume brings another element that can be balanced with slim trousers or other minimal pieces. This trend is especially emphasized in coats seen on the runway, with some coats being an outfit alone. If you are hesitant to invest in this trend, try one of the classic pea coat style coats that are always on point. You can also try a classic, tailored coat with exaggerated details, such as a collar, that still make a striking statement.

Whether you are going for dramatic luxury or boldness this fall, this season’s trends are sure to suit any fashionista’s taste. For the international chic shopper, be sure to purchase your favorite items and have them shipped to you at the lowest international rates through our partnership with MyUS.

At Last: NYC Fashion Week Fall 2012

Wednesday March 21st '12, 1:21 pm

Last month, long legs from around the world descended on New York City to strut their stuff for Fashion Week Fall 2012. Let’s see what some of the best fashion designers are giving us now for fall.

The hottest trends from last month’s New York Fashion Week are here to excite not tease you. Through US Unlocked, you can own these trends. Many of these styles are available on Bluefly.com, RueLala.com, Barneys and Saks Fifth Avenue, which ships internationally, but not to all countries.

On the edge of prim -

A common theme on many runways was the dramatic push and pull of pairing extremes. The results are a surprising mix of textures and twists on classic looks. Designer Charlotte Ronson added an edge to the prim, innocent look with leather and harder lines. Lela Rose took a soft approach to edgy with sexy sheer chiffon dresses with girly cap sleeves.

Tailored to rock -

The label Venexiana offers us ultra feminine shapes with designer Kati Stern’s signature tailoring. Over at CNBC, Stern said she thought many collections would have the push and pull. She drew her influence from both Kate Middleton’s refined, structured style, and glamorous embellishments seen on the rock ‘n’ roll stage.

Salute the troops -

Military elements appeared in many collections, as shown by FashionTV.com. Alexander Wang really wants to see us in trench coats, but not just any trench coat. These are ultra tailored and practically beg you to wear knee-high leather boots and a form fitting solid dress underneath.

You should also know that turtle-neck collars are back in a chic, feminine way. Both Wang and Jason Wu paired them with sharp-shouldered jackets with big buttons and eye-catching epaulets. Look no further than Tommy Hilfiger’s playful new collection for military trends as you’ve never seen them before. Hilfiger’s clean lines and vibrant tees, pants and sportswear will add energy to any dreary day.

Color, color, color -

We saw enough grays and neutrals last fall… welcome back, color! Don’t ever leave us like that again. BCBG takes color blocking to new levels, combining teal, yellow, coral and dark green . Diane Von Furstenberg joined the party as well with pinks, bright reds and blues mixed with metallic belts and her distinctive shapes.

Wearable Women’s Menswear -

CNBC reports that the Richard Chai collection “was both functional and wearable in everyday life.” Hmm. This is a funny buzz word for fashion, but not all the clothes we see on runways are wearable, let alone functional. Designers are finally noticing that more consumers want looks that offer them the most “bang for their fashion dollars”, and that’s a trend we can get behind. With sheer feminine skirts and menswear-influenced button down shirts, it’s also one we can’t wait to wear.

Excited for fall? We are. Let’s parade around the globe, sashaying in chiffon and lace. Wink at fellow fashionistas who make menswear look delicate. Nod to royalty in your own favorite fascinator, and button up that trench coat at night. It’s going to be an ultra chic shopping season. Thanks, style birdies.
