How your shipping rate is determined
When shipping internationally, weight has two meanings:
1. actual: when weighed on a scale
2. volumetric: based on the dimensions of the carton
When the volumetric (also called dimensional or ‘dim’) weight is greater than the actual weight, this is the weight the shipping rate will be based on, as this is how the airlines charge.
To calculate volumetric weight in lbs.: H x L x W (inches)/139
The dimensions of the carton your purchases are sent in can hugely affect your shipping cost.
For this reason, we consolidate and re-pack your orders to help you save money on shipping.
If you are thinking of shipping a larger item, we recommend contacting the seller about the actual weight and the volumetric weight of the boxed item.
