Apple launched the new 2018 version of the iPad during an education-focused event in Chicago earlier this week. Currently, the most affordable iPad on the market, starting at just $329 for the 32 GB Wi-Fi only up to $559 for the 128 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular version. Additionally, the iPad is on sale immediately and will start shipping by the end of the week.
Apple’s new upgrade to its most affordable iPad brings it a bit closer to its higher-end iPad Pro models. The features include:
- Apple Pencil Compatibility– One of the most liked features added to the iPad. The iPad will have tilt and pressure response, like what the iPad Pro has. Unfortunately, the Apple Pencil comes at an additional cost of $99.
- A10 Fusion Chip– The A10 Fusion chip is the same chip seen in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Also, the chip provides better performance than what is seen in most Chromebooks.
- 10-hour Battery Life– The iPad was upgraded with the idea of it being used in the classroom. Therefore, having a 10-hour battery life is necessary for it to get through heavy tasks students will need it for..
