In 1997, Steve Jobs returned to Apple as interim CEO. A team of Apple and NeXT employees spent several months building an online store and on November 10, 1997, Steve Jobs announced the online store at an Apple press event.
In August 2015, Apple revamped the online storefront, removing the dedicated “Store” tab and making the entire website a retail experience.
Apple Computer Company was founded on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne as a business partnership. It was incorporated a year later by Jobs and Wozniak, Wayne having sold back his share of the company.
