Handling Card Declines

Here at US Unlocked we do everything we possibly can so that our customers have a great experience. With that being some bumps do happen, in this case, it is cards being declined. The following is a list of the most common reasons for your card being declined and how to easily prevent it from happening again!

Card Closed

In most cases, this issue is caused by using a One-Time Use Card more than a single time. Please note that the One-Time Use card is used for a single transaction and then a new card number must be generated.

Fraud Advice

If you get this decline reason please reach out to use so we can further evaluate this issue.

Insufficient Funds

In most cases, this issue is caused by not having enough money in your US Unlocked account for the transaction to process. Please load funds to your account to make sure that this issue doesn’t happen again.

Invalid Card Details

In most cases, this issue is caused by entering the incorrect details on the card. Be sure to use the correct billing and shipping info (Dashboard Explained) as well as make sure the expiration date and CVC are correct.

Unknown Host Time Out

In most cases, this issue can be solved by simply retrying the transaction.

Unauthorized Merchant

In most cases, this issue is caused by using a Merchant-Specific Card at a different merchant that it was originally assigned to. 

Please note that once a Merchant-Specific Card has a transaction charged to it that it will not be able to be used at any other merchant.

User Transaction Error

In most cases, this issue is caused by having the spending limit on the Merchant-Specific Card

Please note that once a Merchant-Specific Card has a transaction charged to it that it will not be able to be used at any other merchant.
